THRESHOLD

The newly graduated protagonist has his reality twisted and contorted, as he tries to escape the liminal space in which he is trapped

In 2022 I became interested in the concept and study of liminal spaces and liminality, and since it was the second year of the COVID pandemic there were plenty of examples around me. Even inside me. With this shor film I was speculating the feeling of missing a complete rite of passage, such as a graduation, that you would feel lost, confused, hurt. I was lucky enough to have my graduation in person, yet because of the fact I wasn’t really satisfied with this short film put me through this very feeling. I am now in the process of “demastering” it, adding a feeling of nostalgia through better color grading and film emulation.
